Some big name games are known for getting console exclusives when they arrive on the most popular console on the market. That's exactly what happened when Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive dropped some exclusive content into the PS4 version of Red Dead Redemption 2, but now Xbox One gamers can get in on the exclusive content.

Game Informer is reporting that the console-exclusives that originally came with the PlayStation 4 version of the game are now available for the Xbox One. The content availability was announced quietly within a recent update for the game that indicated that the Red Chestnut Arabian Horse, Alligator Skin Ranch Cutter Saddle, and the High Roller Double-Action Revolver that were exclusive to the PS4 are now available in the online mode for the Xbox One version of Red Dead Redemption 2.

This doesn't mean that PlayStation 4 gamers are now sharing parity with their Xbox counterparts. There are likely to be new updates or content that may find their way onto the PS4 ahead of the Xbox One. That's how the exclusivity deal was setup between Sony and Activision, where each of the new major zombie updates for Call of Duty: World War II dropped first for the PlayStation 4, and then arrived a month later for the Xbox One and PC versions of the game.

In this case, PS4 owners managed to get an entire extra month of access to the content ahead of the Xbox gaming base, but now that the latest update has dropped, the Xbox fanbase can take advantage of those items, too.

That wasn't the only inclusion in the update. There was also the inclusion of the highly anticipated and much talked about Battle Royale mode that went live called Gun Rush. This is a sandbox map where players are in an ever-shrinking area where they must kill 31 other players in a free-for-all, last man standing mode. There's also a team variation of the mode as well, allowing some friends to get together and drop bodies in some old-school Wild West shootouts.

The update for the online mode also includes new daily challenges, new law and bounty upgrades, parley changes, and a few other updates to the way player locations appear on the map.

There are also some plans to include all new missions in the Story in A Land of Opportunities, additional dynamic events that will implemented, similar to the kind you encounter in Skyrim. And all new competitive modes for the online PvP, much like how Rockstar added a ton of content to Grand Theft Auto Online.

Additional weapons and clothing items will also be added to the game. It appears Rockstar is already going all-in on the Red Dead Redemption 2 online mode and turning it into the next big cash powerhouse.

While Xbox One gamers were sort of left behind during the initial exclusive content that came out for the game when it released for the two home consoles last fall, at least the exclusivity honeymoon period between Rockstar and Sony seems to be over with -- for now.
